The short version: Freedom Tracker is an offline desktop application, and your portfolio data never leaves your computer. We don't have accounts, we don't run a cloud, and we never see your holdings, income, or balances. This page explains the few limited cases where any data is handled at all.
Everything you enter into Freedom Tracker — your holdings, transactions, dividends, budgets, goals, and scenarios — is stored locally in a file on your own computer. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party. There is no account to create and no login. If you uninstall the app or delete that file, the data is gone; we keep no copy because we never receive one.
To show live prices and distribution information, the app requests publicly available market data from third-party providers (including Yahoo Finance and stockanalysis.com). These requests contain only the ticker symbols being looked up — never your share counts, balances, or any personal information. If you use the app offline, it simply skips these lookups.
On launch, the app may check our public software repository (hosted on GitHub) to see whether a newer version is available. This is a standard web request; like any web request it includes your device's IP address, which is handled by GitHub under their own privacy policy. No personal or financial data from your portfolio is sent.
Payments are processed by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record for the sale. When you buy a license, Lemon Squeezy collects the information needed to process your payment (such as your name, email, billing details, and country) under their privacy policy. We receive only limited order information — such as your email address, country, and license key — so we can deliver your license and provide support. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
If you contact us at support@myfreedomtracker.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message, and we use it only to respond to and resolve your request.
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like most websites, the hosting provider may process standard technical request logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. We do not place advertising or sell any information collected through this site.
Freedom Tracker is intended for adults managing their own investments and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Because your portfolio data lives only on your device, you are in direct control of it at all times — you can edit, export, back up, or delete it yourself within the app. For the limited order and support information described above, you may contact us to request access to or deletion of that information, and we will respond consistent with applicable law.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
